Insurance
We are currently contracted providers for Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, HealthNet and United Healthcare. We are not contracted with any of the Covered California plans, including those through Anthem Blue Cross.
Currently we are accepting assignment for Medicare Part B patients. Often, if you have a Medicare supplement plan, there is no cost to you for an office visit, though not all plans cover the annual deductable completely or co-payments completely. If you do not have a Medicare supplement plan, then you are responsible for the annual deductible and a 20% co-pay for each visit.
We reserve the right to change our contracting and assignment status at any time according to the contractual agreements with the insurance company.
We are not currently contracted with Blue Shield of California, and consequently, some national or non-California based "Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance companies. We have applied for a contract with Blue Shield of California, but they are terribly slow in adding contracted providers, and we cannot predict when if ever we will be added. If you want to check if we are contracted with your national or non-California "Blue Cross/Blue Shield" insurance plan, please call the office and provide us with the first 3 letters of you insurance ID number; we can usually determine quickly if your benefits are processed in California by Anthem Blue Cross, and consequently, if we are contracted providers. If your claims are processed by Blue Shield of California, then we not yet be contracted with your plan.
If you have no insurance, or we are not contracted providers for your insurance company, we can still see you on a 'cash' basis. We ask you to pay your bill in full at the time of service, and we will submit your charges to your insurance company as a courtesy to you for them to pay you directly according to your agreement with them, usually after an "out of plan" deductible is met.
